Learn about financial assistance available to patients with cancer

Dealing with cancer can present significant financial challenges. If one were working at time of diagnosis but is now unable to for the period of treatment, one may be able to access the income protection insurance or if not able to return to work, a total and permanent disability insurance or gain assistance from the  superannuation fund or Centrelink.

Need advice?

It is often hard to know where to ask for advice regarding financial support – a referral to a social worker is a good start. In Australia, many of the Cancer Councils offer pro bono financial advice and support. For more information about the Cancer Council support – click here or phone 131120
